WZMB Zombie Radio Show presents a weekly online podcast about a New York City DJ trying to save the Big Apple from zombies by doing what he does best-- playing jazz. Starring James Mathers and Angelle Gullett, the satirical radio show lampoons politics, religion, art, traffic and urban life, all through the prism of the Zombie Apocalypse. This will be their first live show. "We're excited," says Mathers, who also co-writes the series. "A live show presents new challenges to our standard format, but new possibilities, too. With our radio show, we challenge audiences to close their eyes and imagine the blood and gore. Now I guess we have to actually carry it in." This is the Pollygrind Festival's second year, but it's already considered the key festival for indie cult filmmakers to land distribution deals. Its founder and programmer Chad Clinton Freeman has been called the "new champion of unabashed B-movie sleaze." Eight of last year's 13 feature films landed distribution deals, including Greg Lamberson's "Slime City Massacre" and Twisted Twins' "Dead Hooker in a Trunk". "WZMB Zombie Radio Show and Pollygrind Film Festival is a match made in heaven," says Craig Sabin, creator and co-writer of Zombie Radio Show. "The people that this festival attracts are the people we're writing for. They're sick bastards just like us." "Come to think of it," Sabin laughs, "Maybe heaven isn't where the match was made." "Zombiepalooza" But is the Zombie Radio Show cast nervous about coming face to face with their audience for the first time. Angelle Gullett, who plays J-Bo the Zombie Killer on the show, is not concerned. "If things get out of hand," she smiles, "I'll have my machete." theatre7 is located at 1406 South 3rd Street in Las Vegas, Nevada in the Downtown Arts District.
