By: Ruth Cheesley Joomla!Day events are held around the world, with one per year in each geographical region. An opportunity for anyone involved with the popular open source content management system Joomla! to meet, learn about new developments, and hear from top-class speakers on a range of relevant topics, Joomla!Day UK events are always well received by delegates and speakers. The line up includes keynote speeches from Ryan Ozimek, President of the Open Source Matters (the not for profit body which oversees the Joomla! project), Saif Bonar from Freelancer.co.uk (a leading outsourcing portal), and Chris Adams from Rochen (Official Joomla! hosting partner). Sessions are lined up to include some hot topics, ranging from migrating to the latest version of Joomla! (1.7) through to the more techie topics in the Developers line, such as the MVC system and Commercialising Joomla!. The whole event is themed on the London Underground and is organised into 'Lines' - Newcomers, Administrators, Designers and Developers - which ensures that there is something for everyone, whether a complete newcomer or a seasoned developer.
