Follow on Google News | Joomla!Day UK 2011 gets of to a great start! This morning 166 delegates descended on Microsoft's head office in Central London for Joomla!Day UK 2011 - the annual two day conference for people interested in the Joomla! Content Management System
By: Ruth Cheesley Joomla! has grown from its humble origins to becoming one of the most popular open source content management systems in the world, with over 25 million downloads of the freely available software being reached earlier this month. Joomla!Day events happen once a year in each region, and often take the form of a two day event, with the first day being a formal conference style with speakers from around the world, and a second 'community day'. One of the strengths of Joomla! is its community - with people from all over the world contributing to the core code, and many more writing extensions and providing support and website design using the system. Joomla!Day events are a great opportunity for the community to come together and share learning, find out about the latest developments, meet the people behind the extensions which they use, and network with others who are involved in this area of website design. Joomla!Day UK is organised by a team of volunteers who have worked tirelessly to ensure that this event is a success - without whom the event would not have gone ahead.
