It's an easy and fun way to give back to a great cause. STELLA is a supporter of the community and women's issues and is thrilled to be associated with Sing To Live. STELLA is a member of Shop Small Stores, an initiative to bring awareness to shopping local within your community and all the benefits that are associated with supporting local businesses. Sing To Live(R) Community Chorus founder Melinda Pollack Harris and Musical Director and Conductor, Dr. Wilbert Watkins, were featured in the Aug 11th edition of Pioneer Press newspapers and on Rick Kogan's WGN Radio show, Sunday Papers on Aug. 9th. The Chorus has just added new choruses in Oak Park and Glenview and will have performances this Fall in Evanston and Oak Park. On October 22, 8 p.m., the Sing to Live(R) Community Chorus will be performing a celebration of hope and survival at Pilgrim Congregational Church, 460 Lake Street, Oak Park, IL. 708- 848-5860. Tickets are $ $20 general admission, $15 students and seniors, and complimentary for breast cancer survivors. Melinda Pollack-Harris founded the group in 2005 after completing treatment and seeking a support group that could replicate the sense of camaraderie and exhilaration she experienced in previous choral experiences. Unable to find one, she started her own. The group now has 70 members, and its three-times- Watkins, whose twin sister is a breast cancer survivor. Singers who have a family member or friend with the illness, but are not themselves survivors, are also members of the chorus. The group's November 5 concert will also be dedicated to Breast Cancer Awareness, and that will be performed at 8:00 p.m., at Alice Millar Chapel, 1870 Sheridan Road Evanston, IL. 847-491-7256. Tickets are $ $20 general admission, $15 students and seniors, and complimentary for breast cancer survivors.
