Aug. 24, 2011 - PRLog -- Indian dancing, tai chi and Capoeira plus world music artists are just some of the treats in store for visitors at World Party this coming bank holiday weekend in Museum Park on Saturday, 27 August.

A new format for the event is bringing a packed programme of music, dance, demonstrations and artists to the main stage, all day with opening speeches from Taha Idris from the Swansea Bay Race Equality Council and Lord Mayor Councillor Ioan Richard.

The event opens at 12noon with an array of stalls offering henna painting to foods from around the world.  The main stage programme also starts at 12 noon with local favourites Samba Tawe and closing at 6pm with the headline act H-Dhami on stage at 5pm.

Visitors can look forward to Indian dancing, Welsh folk music, belly dancing, salsa and lots of live music from Ponchartrain and the Porter Boys.  Workshops and performances will also be taking place in the National Waterfront Museum.

Frances Jenkins, Strategic Manager for Tourism, Marketing and Events said,” It’s fantastic that World Party is being staged once again in the city.  We have revamped the event format to make the day more exciting and vibrant for visitors and participants alike and it’s free!”

World Party is a free event. For more information about this and other events taking place in Swansea, visit http://www.swanseabayfestival.com
