Androscoggin Bank Unveils Recipients of ABCommunity Grants

Androscoggin Bank has named the recipients of eight grants and two donations as a part of the ABCommunity grant program. The awarded grants total $17,000 and benefit non-profit organizations throughout Maine.
 
Aug. 15, 2011 - PRLog -- LEWISTON, Maine – August 15, 2011 - Androscoggin Bank today named the recipients of eight grants and two donations as a part of the ABCommunity grant program. The awarded grants total $17,000 and benefit non-profit organizations throughout Maine. ABCommunity Grants are representative of the Bank’s long tradition of serving as a financial partner and resource to the community.

Grants were awarded to:
•   The Nezinscot Guild, Turner, ME ($5,000)
•   Friends of Merrymeeting Bay, Richmond, ME ($2,500)
•   Androscoggin River Watershed Council, Bethel, ME ($2,500)
•   Lake Auburn Watershed Neighborhood Association, Auburn, ME ($1,000)
•   Greater Franklin Development Council, Farmington, ME ($1,000)
•   Norway Historical Society, Norway, ME ($1,000)
•   Brenda Marie Foundation, Monmouth, ME ($1,000)
•   The Compassionate Friends - Lewiston Chapter, Lewiston, ME ($1,000)

“The ABCommunity grant program has gone on to fund a number of great organizations and we want to congratulate this year’s second of two bi-annual groups of recipients,” said Christine Conrad, SVP and Chief Customer Officer at Androscoggin Bank. “These grants and donations will fund the on-going work of community-based, non-profit organizations.”

Grant applications are reviewed on a bi-annual basis, next occurring in January 2012 and again in July 2012. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis throughout the year, with the deadline for submission on the 15th day of the month preceding review. Additional information on guidelines and criteria for submission, including the application form and details regarding past recipients, is available online at http://www.bankoncommunity.org.

In addition to the ABCommunity Grants, donations of $1,000 were made to The Gray/New Gloucester Development Corporation in Gray, ME and the Oratorio Chorale in Brunswick, ME.
