July 18, 2011 - PRLog -- After a grueling competition, held under the theme Mission Innovation and involving eight shortlisted Abaya designers from across the region, it was Emirati national Moza Al Suweidi who was adjudged the best Abaya designer. Moza Al Suweidi took the first-prize of Saudi Riyal 10,000, besides being honoured to showcase a private fashion show presented by Persil Abaya Shampoo, a business class trip to SWAROVSKI Head Quarters in Austria and a Crystal trophy from SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS.

The final saw Moza Al Suweidi vying for the top prize against Ola Al Khatib, another emerging Abaya design talent, in an exquisite setting at the Armani Hotel – presenting a unique fusion of tradition and modernity. As part of the event, the two finalists showcased their entire collection of modest dressing and immitable style in a premium fashion show.

In her comments on the exciting competition, Amal Murad – one of the leading Abaya designers in the region and a member of the jury, said: “It was a finale befitting the scale of the Persil Arwa3 Abaya. The third edition was the most exciting and showed an entire new world of innovation in Abaya designs. We are extremely privileged to see such world-class talent emerging from the region, and thanks to Persil and Henkel for supporting this cause of catapulting regional Abaya design talent on to a global stage.”

She added: “ Overall, Moza Al Suweidi, Ola Al Khatib and the six others in the fray have made the region proud with their designs and work.”

Adil Sheikh, Head of Marketing at Henkel GCC, said: “Every year, we set new benchmarks in excellence and we are happy with the overall success of the 3rd Persil Arwa3 Abaya. This year, we offered a bigger and better platform for designers to excel and we are thankful to our partners, including SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS, who supported our cause in a big way.”
