LEVA Training Conference Hosts First National Mobile Video Summit

July 11, 2011 - PRLog -- (MIDLOTHIAN, TEX.)– The Law Enforcement and Emergency Services Video Association (LEVA) has opened online registration for the 2011 LEVA Annual Training Conference, which runs Oct. 17-21 at Coeur d’Alene Resort & Conference Center in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. The conference will feature a full schedule of workshops and exhibits, as well as the first National Mobile Video Summit.

According to Grant Fredericks, LEVA instructor and owner and operator of Forensic Video Solutions, Inc., the National Mobile Video Summit was developed in response to the increased use of in-car and body-worn video systems for law enforcement applications. Through case studies, the summit will examine the integration of mobile video into an investigative workflow. It will also discuss the new digital video standards from the National Institute of Justice, which are expected to be published just prior to the summit.

“It’s the first event of its kind that explores the growing phenomenon of mobile video for law enforcement,” Fredericks said. “This national summit is an opportunity for vendors, users, and government to get together to discuss the developing standards and technologies.”

The National Mobile Video Summit and specialized workshops will run Oct. 17-18, while the remaining conference program runs Oct. 19-21. Exhibits will be open on Oct. 18.

LEVA’s conference program will include a number of sessions that provide training in forensic image analysis and audio forensics, as well as production and post-production. There will also be a critical incident videography workshop, trial preparation training, and more. Plus, most sessions will allow attendees to earn credit hours toward LEVA Forensic Video Analyst certification.

“Video technology continues to develop and evolve, and LEVA has the training that public safety video professionals need to stay current,” said LEVA president Det. Blaine Davison, Norman Oklahoma Police Department. “This promises to be one of our strongest conference training programs to date for both forensic video and digital multimedia analysts.”
