Jobs for Me App Brings Students, Schools and Recruiters Together Through Facebook

Work4 Labs, the leading company in social recruiting technology, just released a free Facebook app designed for university career centers and their students called ‘Jobs for Me’

July 6, 2011 - PRLog -- Work4 Labs, the world leader in social recruitment technology, is launching today its newest application, Jobs For Me, a Facebook recruitment tool for universities. Jobs for Me is a free app that allows universities to provide their students with full career center services on their Facebook page.  The app returns to Facebook’s school-centric and exclusive origins, since universities can restrict access to jobs based on the Facebook user’s email or university network.

The Jobs for Me app integrates fully with the university’s web-based career center, providing the same beneficial services and more on a platform where students spend most of their time.  Indeed, 90 percent of college students are on Facebook, and a majority  of universities have Facebook Pages dedicated to career services.  However, until now, Facebook career centers have lacked a critical element: job postings. For the first time, Jobs for Me makes this possible.

Universities can restrict access to jobs based on the user’s Facebook network or email address (e.g. @berkeley.edu).  Students can then search and apply for jobs themselves, as well as use advanced social matching technology to share jobs with their friends.

“The Facebook platform enables us to change fundamentally what until now has been an inefficient process.  Job searching is a highly social activity, especially among college students.  It is logical to take this process to the world’s largest and most popular social network” says Simon Bouchez, Jobs for Me lead project manager.

A recent survey conducted by the National Association of College Employers reports that over 56 percent of students believe Facebook is the most helpful social network to find jobs (only 1percent feel the same way about LinkedIn).  What’s more, one out of four students have already used Facebook to look for a job.

Universities and recruiters benefit greatly from the app’s user-friendly interface and comprehensive analytics suite, such as a dashboard displaying real-time and historical trends on applicant views, likes, and sharing activities.

The application’s amazing adoption by universities (100+ partners) and companies (8,000+) across the world signals the significant demand for such capabilities.  The success of the app shows that the university recruitment space is not just ready, but also able to be improved significantly by the Jobs for Me technology.
