July 5, 2011 - PRLog -- Chelsea Rae Gregory, Miss South Carolina International 2011 had a busy weekend during the fourth of July fullfilling her duties as a queen and community volunteer.

Her first parade as Miss South Carolina International, Chelsea rode in the Tega Cay Parade.  Tega Cay, SC, where Chelsea lives, is a penninsula that juts into the body of water known as Lake Wylie.  The community is full of neighborhoods, a 27 hole golf course, a marina for boaters, and a beach and swim club.

This very special neighborhood had become home for Miss Gregory only 5 years ago.  "There is so much to do here.  The people are friendly, the lake is beautiful, and it is very family oriented," said Miss Gregory.

Miss Gregory rode on a blue convertible driven by her dad, William Gregory, Jr. who is a pilot for USAirways and has served 13 years in the Air National Guard as a fighter pilot.  Chelsea wore a blue and white striped sundress with a red belt and red shoes while waving an American flag.  Her car was donated by neighbors Steve and Janice Fletcher.

Once the parade was finished, Miss South Carolina International spent time talking to the children in the community and signing autograph cards at the Glennon Community Center during a family fun time and meet and greet.  She was joined by a special friend, Homer of the Charlotte Knights Baseball Team.  Chelsea is an intern in the area of Public Relations for the Charlotte Knights this summer.  She often times leads Homer around the field and stadium to talk to the kids and pose for photo opportunities.

Chelsea Rae Gregory is a senior at Gardner-Webb University studying Communications and Public Relations.  She is also working on a minor in Spanish.  She will graduate in the Spring of 2012.

Miss Gregory uses her Miss South Carolina International title as a platform to speak out on a very important topic, Attention Deficit Disorder.  ADHD is a learning barrier that Chelsea has herself and wants to bring change about in our nations schools for those who suffer with this silent disorder.  Her platform program is called Re-Focus:  ADHD Awareness.  She has spoken at the Master Mind Luncheon, MHA Girls Voice Conference and will be featured at the national CHADD conference in November.
