July 4th: Freedom and Independence.

July 1, 2011 - PRLog -- For the 235th time the United States of America celebrates its independence. America will celebrate this independence with family, fun, parades and fireworks. In keeping with the spirit of Independence Day, Rob McCarthy , a former U.S. Marine Corps Officer and candidate for U.S. Congress stated: “we have good reason to celebrate our freedom this 4th of July. The U.S. is a beacon of freedom to the world.” July 4th is the date the Continental Congress adopted the Declaration of Independence which announced that the thirteen American colonies were free and independent states. “The Declaration of Independence affirms our God given rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness", McCarthy said.

McCarthy continued: “The statement of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness in the Declaration of Independence is an invitation to every American to achieve their full potential.”  “The Declaration of Independence also tells us that government derives its powers from the consent of the governed. I am very aware that government exists for the people, not the other way around”, added Rob McCarthy.

“Thomas Paine said of our independence that the sun never shined on a cause of greater worth”, said McCarthy. Freedom is our Divine birthright. and a gift from God. Promising to fight hard to insure freedom for generations to come Rob McCarthy stated, “Let us never forget the meaning of Independence Day, the sacrifices of our brave troops and the freedom we are afforded in the United States.”

"God bless those in the armed forces of the United States who make our freedom possible. Those in uniform have answered the call to serve and we must remember the service and sacrifice of those upon whose very lives rest our freedom.  All these patriots deserve our thanks and support," concluded Rob McCarthy.
