Bristol Housing Authority Named a High Performer

June 24, 2011 - PRLog -- Bristol, RI  The Bristol  Housing Authority (BHA) has again earned the distinction as a “High Performing Agency” as determined by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The distinction is based on evaluation in the Public Housing Assessment System (PHAS).  This scoring system is used to evaluate every public housing agency in the country. Reporting and scoring each housing agency is vital to the tracking of funding and success for critical evaluation by HUD, the Housing Authority governing body.  The designation is based on a review of standard operating criteria, reflects sound management practices, high occupancy levels, and strong fiscal oversight.  

The  Bristol Housing Authority selection as a “High Performer” is testament to the work being done on behalf of all the residents of the BHA. Bristol Housing Authority Executive Director,  Candace Pansa, was quick to share the honor with her hard working staff,  “Being  among the top tier of PHA’s in Rhode Island, New England and the nation is a matter of great pride for the BHA staff, as they work very hard each day to make this agency efficient and user friendly. “ She continued, “This achievement is more than one of recognition, as a high performer this puts us at the front of the line for additional funding, and that directly impacts the service we bring to our residents and the money we are able to return to the Bristol coffers.” Bristol Housing has achieved this high ranking for at least 15 years.
