Senior Awareness Day in Bristol, RI

Sept. 18, 2012 - PRLog -- In a collaborative effort this year, the senior awareness day partners the Bristol Senior Center (BSC) and the Bristol Housing Authority (BHA) to educate the public on the services and programs available for the aging population in the East Bay.  The BSC Director, Maria Ursini is very happy with the reception and growth of this initiative.  “Last year’s fair was very well received, and the return on investment was more folks got valuable information on services and programs.”   She continued, “This event is for more than the aged, it is designed for adult children and caretakers, as so many times they are responsible for guidance.”  With open enrollment upcoming, experts will be on hand with guidance and the proper forms to help seniors and other navigate their way through these important decisions.

The venue for the fair this year is the BHA community room.  Candy Pansa, BHA Executive Director said, "We are so pleased to host this terrific event.  It is through efforts of the Bristol Senior Center that each day assists us in our mission to help our elderly residents age successfully in place. "
