Palfinger Crane does gardening on cruise ship

I read with interest that the Palfinger PK 150002 M (marine) crane was recently installed on the cruise liner Allure of the Seas to help look after the trees and plants!The article read that it assists with the exact positioning of palms in the idyllic pool landscapes and central park area.
Having an outreach of 27 metres and with a 120m cable winch I believe the PK 150002 was the perfect choice for the floating goliath. The article read that the ship is 361 metres in length and has 16-decks with space for more than 5,400 passengers and 2,100 crew members, phew!
The main reason for it’s new Palfinger crane was for easy maintenance of it’s ‘Central Park’ themed area. Featuring over 50 trees, countless palms and bamboo bushes the crane was installed to provide easy access and loading of trees and plants. The Palfinger PK 150002 also assists with the exact positioning of palms in the pool landscapes with precision control. The gardening crew received extensive training in the operation of the crane back in November 2010 to ensure that the daily gardening work was managed in a safe and efficient manner. It’s reported that this wasn’t the first time a Palfinger PK 150002 was used. In 2009 an identical crane was fitted to it’s sister ship “Oasis of the Seas”. In summary Palfinger’s Heavy Duty Cranes are the perfect choice on land and water.
