June 7, 2011 - PRLog -- According to a road test by Consumer Guide Automotive, the 2011 GMC Terrain earned excellent overall ratings in all categories for its vehicle class! The test evaluated everything from acceleration and fuel economy, ride quality to interior and cargo space. This should be great news to drivers in Charlotte, Matthews & Monroe, NC. Not only did the 2011 Terrain do well in every class, but they smoked most of the competition! In fact, both the 4-cylinder and the V6 models scored very well.

The road test for the 2011 GMC Terrain included a full review of acceleration, fuel economy, ride quality, steering, handling, braking, controls and even quietness. In addition, all interior and cargo space was scrutinized, along with comfort and value within its class. The GMC SUV did better than the vehicle class average in every category, except for one. The only exception was for acceleration on the 4-cylinder model, and it was only slightly lower than average. See the charts below for the complete comparison.

According to the article, “In Consumer Guide testing, an AWD 4-cylinder averaged 24.2 mpg. An AWD V6 averaged 23.6 mpg. Both results are impressive.” In regard to ride quality, it said, “Terrain maintains its composure over most pavement imperfections. This is true across all models, regardless of tire size.” In addition, they commented that “the major gauges are large and easy to read. The standard audio- and climate-control system is mounted high on the center console, with most functions within easy reach.”

"Occupants enjoy ample headroom and legroom. Supportive seats are a boon on longer trips. Visibility is generally good...” Concerning the rear, it continued to say, “As in front, the seat is long-haul comfortable. The MultiFlex bench means legroom ranges from adequate to vast, depending on its position. Space is generous...”

In summary, the article stated, “GMC's smallest SUV earns our ‘Recommended nod’ for passenger accommodations and overall refinement.… Terrain offers unique styling, additional standard equipment, and available cloth seating that are notably upmarket…Terrain merits serious consideration from midsize-crossover shoppers…”
