SEXUAL INTIMACY EXPERT COMMENTS ON WHY POWERFUL
MARRIAGES FLOUNDER. THE SOLUTION? PLANNED INTIMACY.

Phoenix, Arizona — John Edwards was just indicted for charges related to his affair. In the last few weeks, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Dominique Strauss-Kahn experienced colossal collapses from power due to infidelity. It seems that use of the words “marriage,” “trust” and “fidelity” in the same sentence seems to be on shaky ground these days. What causes intimacy to erode to the point where decreased interest in your partner becomes an unrecoverable chasm that leads to sometimes disastrous ends?

“To restore and rekindle the spark of intimacy in any relationship,” says sex and intimacy expert, Amara Charles, “you must take time to break free from your constant stress and busyness. From time to time, you have to step out side the whirlwind of life you and make being together the most important thing in the world – at least for a weekend.” If the average couple can find it difficult to make time for intimacy, it’s no wonder so many power couples such as Hollywood types or high-profile political figures find their marriages in shambles.

The key to ensuring lasting affection in a marriage is to make sure a couple creates time to be together without all the usual interferences. “Even most vacations are somewhat stressful,” says Charles, “often leaving couples more exhausted than before they left home.” Whether it’s family issues, kids or jobs that get in the way, we rarely say to our partner, “Let’s devote an entire weekend to being intimate with each other.” Intimacy takes commitment, but it also needs to be fun. The greatest gift partners can give each other is to create wonderful adventures together.

The “Discover Your Erotic Nature Intimacy Retreat” is Charles’ solution for couples who want to learn how to keep romance fresh, interesting and exciting. In this educational weekend retreat, participants will learn fascinating things about their own, and their partner’s erotic type, including ways to give their partner the kind of pleasure they truly enjoy.

Charles’ co-host for the retreat is Shyena Venice, an intuitive spiritual counselor, body worker and gifted musician. Venice is also the musical director of Charles’ Touch for Two program and CEO of SYLK, the Natural Premium lubricant for women.

Now in their 23rd year of hosting intimacy retreats, Charles and Venice have heard first-hand how participants appreciate the process of rediscovering their sensuality. “I LOVE the authentic sharing, the safe space, the sensual poetic sound of Amara’s voice, the beautiful music created by Shyena, the opportunity to dance and play in the space with all the amazing courageous people that show up for the experience,” says Leela Sullivan. “I treasure these events and look forward to the next one!”

The secluded sanctuary of Grace Grove is the place near Sedona where this tantalizing retreat will take place July 21-24. With its 25 acres of shady orchards along Oak Creek, along with its vineyards and gardens, it offers many magical spaces where couples can relax and enjoy the natural surroundings. Afternoons will be for learning, sharing great food and relaxing while evenings will be full of guided exercises, music and plenty of time for intimate connection.
