Founder of Health Conscious Movement Predicts Healthcare System Demise

Natasha Deonarain, M.D., founder of the Health Conscious Movement, predicts the collapse of America’s healthcare system. Commenting on a recent article about $ penalties created by "Obamacare," she states, “This is the beginning of the end.”

Jan. 25, 2013 - PRLog -- CHANDLER, AZ. January 25, 2013 - Natasha Deonarain, MD, MBA, founder and spokeswoman for The Health Conscious Movement, commented today that America’s healthcare system is imploding faster than even she had originally predicted.

“I see this as the beginning of the end,” Deonarain stated in a recent interview. “What this law is doing is typical of government tactics. They keep trying to punish our way out of a healthcare mess that they themselves created, instead of working toward viable, collaborative solutions with the American people. The main problem is that it’s we, the people, who wind up suffering.”

A recent Medscape article (http://www.medscape.com/viewarticle/778021?nlid=27423_1341&src=nldne) by Robert Lowes reports that hospitals most hit with financial penalties, according to the research in JAMA, were large, teaching hospitals, as well as safety-net hospitals for the poor. Dr. Deonarain points out that it is exactly this population that is the sickest and poorest who have been bearing the brunt of America’s failed healthcare policies for decades.

When this information is combined with news about the recent Medicare debate on pay cuts to physicians which have prompted more and more doctor’s to consider “opting out” of Medicare (http://www.forbes.com/sites/brucejapsen/2013/01/01/27-pay...), the result is particularly devastating, states Deonarain. However, all is not hopeless. Dr. Deonarain has for some time been working on a viable solution to the healthcare catastrophe at large, Medicare being only one aspect.
“The Health Conscious Movement is about teaching Americans that most of what they are experiencing is a direct result of the perspective from which the entire healthcare system operates. When the system incentivizes profit based on disease, it’s obvious that more disease will be created. But if we change the way we think about health and operate first from health practice rather than medical practice, health is created. And, strangely enough, it’s much, much cheaper than continuing to punish our way out.”
Dr. Deonarain’s forthcoming book, The 7 Principles of Health, due for release April 6 on Amazon.com, creates a new roadmap for Americans and teaches them to understand clearly what their system has created for them, and how they can best find their way back to health by using empowerment, rather than punishment, as a fundamental principle.
