Innovative test-drive event will yield much-needed money for Loup City Booster Club

Loup City, NE – Ericson Ford is bringing Ford Motor Company’s innovative Drive One 4 UR School program to the Loup City community in an effort to raise up to $6,000 for Loup City Public Schools. For every person who test-drives a Ford vehicle at Polish Days on Main Street on June 4, Ericson Ford and Ford Motor Company will donate $20 to Loup City Public Schools. Ford will also donate an additional $10 for a second test drive of the all-new 2012 Ford Focus, up to an additional $2,000.  The funds will go towards the Loup City Public School’s athletic booster club to be used towards a new electronic message board.

“We are excited to host our first Drive One 4 UR School event to help Loup City Public Schools raise funds for their athletic department.  Our goal for this event is to raise enough money to purchase an electronic message board for the school. This technology would be very beneficial to the school and the students and we are happy to offer our support,” said John Ericson, President of Ericson Ford. “We are also excited to introduce our latest vehicles. With this hands-on experience, the community could help raise up to $8,000 for Loup City Public Schools.” The event, which will be held from 8:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M., will feature the Ford Explorer, Focus, Fiesta, Edge, F-150, Mustang and other available models.

Since the start of Ford’s Drive One 4 UR School program in 2007, more than 275,000 test-drives at more than 1,500 events have generated over $5 million in donations for high schools nationwide.
In addition to raising much-needed revenue for high school extracurricular activities, the program gives participants the chance to experience Ford Motor Company’s exciting new vehicles and leading safety technologies, including:

•   MyKey™, a system that allows parents to limit a vehicle’s top speed and audio volume to encourage safe driving behavior in teens;
•   SYNC®, the fully integrated, in-vehicle voice-activated communications and entertainment system, updated with a “Do Not Disturb” button to block incoming calls and text messages and improved text message read-back capabilities so drivers can keep their eyes on the road and hands on the wheel;
•   Blind Spot Information System (BLIS™) with cross traffic alert, which uses radar to check the blind spot and helps notify the driver of approaching traffic when backing out of a parking spot; and,
•   Active Park Assist, a technology that helps drivers position the vehicle for parallel parking and then steer it into a parking spot without touching the steering wheel.
•   SmartGauge™ with EcoGuide is a unique instrument cluster designed to give hybrid owners a more connected driving experience by coaching them to further maximize the fuel efficiency of their hybrid vehicle.

Awarded 2010 Truck of the Year at the North American International Auto Show, the completely reinvented Ford Explorer combines exceptional handling and towing capability with sleek lines and class-leading fuel economy. With a suite of connectivity and safety features, including MyFord Touch™, terrain management system and the world’s first rear inflatable seatbelt, America’s first SUV remains America’s favorite.

The 2012 Ford Focus, the company’s most significant global nameplate, delivers smart features, spirited performance and 40 mpg fuel economy packaged in modern, European-inspired design finishes. The all-new Focus Titanium model promises to appeal to drivers shifting from larger, premium vehicles looking for sporty handling; while the high-performance Focus ST with turbocharged, direct-injected EcoBoost™ power will get enthusiasts' hearts racing.

To participate, please visit Main Street during Polish Days between 8:00 A.M. and 8:00 P.M. on June 4.

Participants must be 18 or older and have a valid driver’s license. There is a limit of one test-drive per household.
