Geared toward the 12.7 million people in the restaurant industry, “Remake 4 Water” aims to garner some long overdue respect for these hard workers. The restaurant movie will be remade with proceeds going to help fight the Global Water Crisis.

May 21, 2011 - PRLog -- “I wonder what would happen if all the waiters and waitresses didn’t show up for work one day?” A line from the independent film called “Did I Say Thousand Island?”—a positive look at the lives of servers in a resort community that was shot in Summit County Colorado and premiered in 2007. The filmmaker, Patti DiVita has been focusing on the water aspect of this new project, but in honour of National Waitstaff Day, she is concentrating on her passion for the restaurant business which is part of one of the largest industries in the world.

The new website http://www.remake4water.org is an informational site. It’s straight forward and is a resource for information about the origin of “Remake 4 Water”, celebrities who are involved with water non-profits and many of the companies that are involved in the Global Water Challenge. DiVita wanted to focus on facts and reasons why it's a good idea to use a benefit movie as a vehicle to help the almost billion people on the planet who are lacking clean water to drink and sanitation facilities. She felt that releasing the website on National Waitstaff Day was appropriate due to the connection between water and restaurants.

Many sites that you may visit on the web that talk about National Waitstaff Day will mention that it’s the day to give an extra tip. DiVita offers that it might also be a great day to examine your attitude in general towards those in the restaurant business. Did you know that servers can have twice the impact on your dinning experience than the food?” According to the Opinion Research Corporation it’s true. Just take a moment on this day to realize how important is it to have good service. Think about your favorite places to go eat and socialize and what a difference smiling and happy servers make in the whole experience.

DiVita feels that this project could also be named “Remake 4 Respect”. Before shooting the movie she did research to see if she was on the right track. She discovered that she was. Over 90% of the servers she interviewed all over the United States and a few other countries, encompassing hundreds of years of experience stated that they loved their jobs. The new website includes input from some of these restaurant people and from people who watched the movie and enjoyed the insight about the restaurant business. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z-huJswMqkY

The goal of the website is to spread the word about the idea of a benefit movie and to be used as a tool to help bring awareness to the Global Water Crisis in different ways than non-profit water organizations do. It will be a website that changes as new information is gathered in support of the project, regarding celebrities and water organizations. DiVita feels it’s just a matter of time before the right people grasp the idea and join in.
