Louisiana ONLY certified bed bug dog - NESDCA and "Otto"

May 17, 2011 - PRLog -- Inspector Hound is Louisiana’s Premier Canine Inspection Service - We have the only 3rd party certified bed bug dog in the State of Louisiana.  Otto, a 2 year old beagle from Pepe Peruyero's  J&K Canine Academy and his handler Tommy received NESDCA certification in March.  To date no other company has even attempted to get this certification.

NESDCA stands for National Entomology Scent Detection Canine Association and is considered to be the industry standard when it comes to bed bug detection.  NESDCA has set the standard for bed bug scent detection.  In fact the standards set by NESDCA have been adopted by the NPMA (National Pest Management Association) and are the documented Best Practices.

Independent of pest control services, Inspector Hound does not profit from positive alerts.  In other words, we have no incentive to falsely alert with our canines.  When dogs are owned by Pest Control companies, the handler is often pressured into training a hypersensitive dog.  Hypersensitive dogs often find bed bugs that don't exist or more commonly they alert to dead bed bugs.  Either way, these conditions can generate negative outcomes.
