May 11, 2011 - PRLog -- An escaped criminal with the desire to fall in love, the downfall of a detective and a murder mystery thrown in for good measure; that’s the story behind the latest creation of EP Theatre productions, a new theatre company based in Coventry.

EP specialises in combining film and theatre and on Monday 16 May, they start a week-long run of their latest production ‘Total Anonymity’ which is part of Coventry University’s SPECTRUM performing arts festival.

The play is a creative and ambitious production, written, designed and scored by the company and includes a mixture of theatre and film. It tells the story of an escaped criminal who murders various women during one of his many prison breaks.

The show is based on the true-life story of Roberto Zucco and is transposed into the dark, mysterious world of the 1940s. The production will also feature live music which has been written and played by the musicians working in collaboration with the company.

EP Theatre is the work of five people, Hannah Hunt, Andrew Escolme, Caitlin Pritchard, Jack Brindley and Michael Baker – all third year performing arts students currently studying at Coventry University.

Jack Brindley, one of the musical directors of Total Anonymity, said that the production has something for everybody:

“We’ve got an extremely strong cast and crew and this production uses so many of our shared talents in drama, music and film production. We also have the added bonus of live music, which is being provided by Speak Easy, a professional jazz quintet made up of Coventry University music performance students.

“When we created this production, we really wanted it to be more than just a night out at the theatre and by combining live music and film it will hopefully capture the era it is set in and give the audience a totally mixed-media experience.”

The production takes place at AE Harris, 110 Northwood Street in Birmingham, 16th-19th of May 2011 at 8pm.  On Wednesday 18 May only, there will be a FREE coach departing Ellen Terry Theatre, Coventry which will be taking people to the venue.

Tickets are priced at £6 (£4 concessions) and available via the website www.eptheatre.co.uk and using the contact form, state the number of tickets required and on which night. Alternatively, email eptheatreproductions@hotmail.co.uk
