LED Strip Lights Wiring Instructions

When we need to wire LED strip lights to improve the light source both in our household and outside, some DIY-ers may get confused at first, and here are some tips may help you to successfully complete any size LED light strip installation project.

1 Cut LED strip lights to the desirable length by a utility knife.  Keep in mind that if the length you need is more than 5m, then the two 5m strip must be in shunt-wound connection, but not in series.  
2. Expose and strip the ends of the wires leading to the LED lights.
3. Connect the power supply with a controller, so you can control the strips when the lights are illuminated. Simply insert the wire ends into the controller and pinch closed.
4. Hook up the LED strip lights to a data repeater. Remember the data repeater also needs a power supply.
5 Then you can join up anther strip light if you like.

Please keep the following tips into mind when you wiring the LED strips:
1. Choose a proper power supply. Too much can cause your transformer to overload and potentially damage your light strip. When you choose power supply for the led strips, you'd better add 20%+ tolerance. For instance, the power consumption of the led tape is 24 watt, a 24*(1+20%)=29W power supply will be advisable, which can ensure the led strip run at normal brightness
2 Only one RGB LED controller is needed no matter how longe is the strip tape.  
3 The transformer must be connected with the LED light strip in parallel way, NOT in series way.
4 Pay attention to the electrical poles, " + " ," r " , " g " and " b ", connecting them correctly.
