Easter and Royal Wedding at The Follies

The Easter bunny will be returning to his magical burrow in the historical caves at The Follies this month.

April 11, 2011 - PRLog -- Children of all ages will be searching for the rabbit in the egg-stravaganza at Hawkstone Park in Weston-under-Redcastle in Shrewsbury.

Traditional Easter fun will also involve a search for clues from 11am until 3.30pm between Friday, April 22 and Monday, April 25.

Staff at Hawkstone Park are also busy organising a Royal Wedding picnic to celebrate the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton on Friday, April 29.

Once the ceremony has taken place, families are urged to come along to Hawkstone Park for a leisurely walk around The Follies before enjoying a BBQ and entertainment to continue the celebrations during the evening.

Annabel Burgess-Durston, events and sales co-ordinator at Hawkstone Park, said the two bank holidays provided an opportunity for all the family to enjoy a day at The Follies.

“Our Easter Bunny’s Grotto is always popular with young and older children as they have the chance to try and find the bunny as well as search for clues which are dotted throughout The Follies,” she said.

“It is an annual event which remains enduringly popular and it is great for children and their parents to be out in the fresh air walking round The Follies trying to find the Easter eggs.

“We also wanted to mark the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton and we have organised a BBQ, bar and entertainment to give people who aren’t attending street parties the chance to be involved in a specially organised event.

“We hope there will be a real party atmosphere in the evening since most people enjoy a Royal Wedding.

“Those who aren’t interested in watching the Royal Wedding on television can get away from it all by coming for a walk around The Follies so we have got all bases covered!”

For more information or to book a ticket at the Royal Wedding picnic costing £10 each telephone 01948 841700 or email info@hawkstone.co.uk

Admission to The Follies is £7 for adults, £6 for concessions and £4.50 for children and there are also family tickets available. Gates open at 10am.

The Follies is part of Hawkstone Park which features two Championship golf courses, a six-hole academy course, a 66-bedroom hotel and a restaurant.
