Asbestos in the workplace – CQMS explains how a simple toolbox talk could save lives

The Health and Safety Executive estimates that more than 4,000 people die in the UK each each year from asbestos-related cancer deaths *. Wayne says,

“An asbestos toolbox talk helps employees not only understand the dangers of asbestos but also where they will find asbestos and how it might affect their work. The talk can also allow the employer to reinforce and remind employees of the company policy regarding the discovery of suspected asbestos.”

He continues,

“When employees are concentrating on their jobs, they can often forget that health and safety in the work place is very important. Regular toolbox talks are an excellent way to highlight to employees that constant awareness and improvement of the health and safety process can not only help prevent future accidents, but also contributes to the bottom line and ensures the ongoing success of the company.”

Wayne finishes,
