The novel's theme (historical fiction) deals with the slaughter of the last great mustang herds killed off in 1930s Montana. Anderson's novel was a finalist for the prestigious William Faulkner-Wisdom award in 2010 and has been nominated for both IPPY and SPUR novel awards this year. The book has been endorsed by a number of national horse associations and has received rave reviews. Anderson will be touring in June/July/August, signing books at twenty book retail outlets, primarily in the West.
