By: La Vita Bell AUTHOR LAVITA R. BELL RELEASES POETRY COMPILATION TO HELP SEXUAL ABUSE VICTIMS HEAL WHAT: Author LaVita Bell, a sexual assault victim, allows “Confessions of the Soul”, to pull the curtain back from the window of shame and give readers a transparent view of the effects and affects of sexual assault. Truth can hurt; but lies, deceptions, abuse and family secrets hurt more. “Confessions of the Soul” uses poetry and journaling to confront today’s taboo subjects. “Confessions of the Soul”, speaks of dark moments in the author’s life experiences. Readers who grew up with the axiom “what goes on in this house, stays in this house” will see their story in her story. “Confessions of the Soul” provides a roadmap to heal the soul as each challenging secret is faced. A diary moment reads in part: 2009, I decided to let it all go. The anger, the pain, the disparity, the finger pointing and especially the attitude. I’ve overcome many hurdles since I blogged my “Spring Cleaning” in 2007. I was tired of going round and round in the ever revolving door that I could not seem to stop and walk out of. “Confessions of the Soul is a compilation of personal issues revealed that I’ve dealt with myself or with someone else. In my opinion, a confession is an intimate acknowledgment between self and God, releasing negative energy to only receive positive energy in return. My confessions are primarily about love, hate, abuse, relationships, and trust. Whether you can identify personally with the poems and Diary Moments or not, you may be able to identify someone you know”. WHO: LaVita R.
