Groups needed to take part in a Digital Technologies Project

Feb. 22, 2011 - PRLog -- Coventry University is on the look-out for groups who use digital technologies to raise awareness of themselves, run a campaign, support advocacy or influence decision makers.

It is all part of a project called ‘Digital Technologies Connecting Communities’ and is being run by the University’s School of Art and Design.

Any community group that uses email, websites, blogs, you tube, podcasts or any other form of digital communication are invited to get involved.

Dr. Ahmad Reeves from the project team says:

“We are living in an age where the use of digital technology is changing all the time and new ways of getting the message across are being used every day. Some community groups are making the most of this technology, but some could do more.

“The aim of our project is to discover what form of technology people currently use and to share their experiences by taking part in an on-line survey or talking to one of our researchers.

“We will also be putting on workshops where groups can come and share their experience of using digital technology. It can make all the difference when a group is running a specific campaign to use the most effective tools available and some groups make use of it far better than others.”

There is also the opportunity for a group to win a free ‘extreme IT makeover’ where a member of the project team will discuss the group’s existing IT and web set-up and help improve it.
