Feb. 16, 2011 - PRLog -- It’s in the Genes (www.itsinthegenes.org), a blog by Amy Rauch Neilson, has “gone global.”  In less than two weeks, more than 900 subscribers, representing a dozen countries, logged in, for education, information, understanding, humor, and support.  There is value here, for cancer patients, survivors, their families, and others who wonder “What can I do?”

Writer Amy Rauch Neilson, a woman of indomitable spirit, is the creative force behind this blog.  It’s in the Genes is dedicated to women with breast cancer, particularly those who carry a mutation on the BRCA 1 or BRCA 2 gene which predisposes them to an early, aggressive form of breast and ovarian cancer.  Amy, currently undergoing chemotherapy for the second time, is a rebel with a cause.  “I want to spread the word far and wide. I know it won’t just touch lives — it will save them.”

It’s in the Genes is more than a blog about cancer.  It’s a blog about life.  Insightful, original, uplifting, poignant, candid, and sincere, Amy’s writing vibrates with positive energy and vitality.  Readers may cry.  They will definitely LOL.  That is Amy Rauch Neilson’s gift.  “My goal is to reach 5,000 subscriptions to my blog by March 3, 2011,” says Amy, “the day that would have marked five years cancer-free for me.  Though I won’t be celebrating that mark on that day —not this year, anyway — help me to make it a day of celebration.”

While the number of daily hits on the blog skyrocketed in the past few weeks, subscribers – not just visitors – are the goal.  It’s free.  It’s easy.  To subscribe, go to http://www.itsinthegenes.org.  Enter an email address in the Email Subscription box and click Sign me up!  Notifications of new posts are sent by email.  Log in and know why we say, “Amy.  Small name.  Big Impact.”

Want to do more to help and have a good time, too?  Come celebrate, 5000 subscriptions strong, at the upcoming Cosmic Bowling & Silent Auction Benefit, on Friday night, March 18, 2011.  Save the date and join the fun at the Super Bowl, 45100 Ford Road, Canton, MI  48187.  The cost is $20 per person, which includes two games of bowling, shoe rental, two slices of pizza and pop.  Please make checks payable to Amy Neilson Benefit, P.O.
