The Top 10 UK Postcodes for Home Moves Have Been Announced By SelectabaseData obtained from the Recently Moved marketing database of home movers from Selectabase has identified the number of home moves within postcode areas across the UK last year.
By: Selectabase LTD Recently Moved is a small business marketing service which provides monthly lists of new home movers to enable local businesses to introduce themselves. It is widely used by a range of different business, but especially home and garden products or services as moving house can often stimulate additional spending on the home. In descending order of popularity, the top 10 postcode areas for moving house were Birmingham, East London, Manchester, South East London, Sheffield, Nottingham, Newcastle Upon Tyne, Portsmouth, South West London and Cleveland. Compared to pre-recession figures there has of course been a significant fall in the number of home moves across the whole country. However within the latest figures, some regions have leapt up the rankings to enter the top 10 locations. For example the PO postcode area in Portsmouth has jumped from 20th to 9th most popular home moving destination and the TS postcode area of Cleveland in the North East jumped from 38th to 10th in popularity. However the BT Belfast postcode fell from 3rd to 20th place for home mover activity. Commenting on the findings, a Selectabase spokeperson said that “with scarcer numbers of new home movers home around, it’s more important than ever for businesses to make the most of this market” adding that Recently Moved marketing lists can help “a wide range of businesses including home improvements home furnishings, gardening, utilities, electricals and many more”.
