Working With a Certified Spa Consultant

Hotel and resort developers and spa owners can save themselves financial disasters and plenty of headaches by working with spa/hospitality members of the Int'l Management Consultants.

Feb. 2, 2011 - PRLog -- Imagine an airline, in an effort to save money, built its new aircraft based upon the design of one of its pilots. Although the pilot has no official training or certification in aircraft design, the airline owners assume he can design one because the pilot operates planes every day. Clearly, operating aircraft is very different from designing and building them.

While the potential for disaster may not be as large as an aircraft built to the specifications of a pilot, spas built to the specifications of a spa director, and even some self-proclaimed spa consultants, can ultimately end in a costly disaster for the hotel company or spa owner.

“It’s far safer and ultimately easier and faster to engage a professionally-vetted spa consultant with the necessary experience, tools, and ability than to follow a shoestring approach,” said Deborah Evans, president of the Spa Chapter of International Management Consultants (IMC USA). “Serious errors made in critical planning areas can ultimately jeopardize the success of the entire project.”

IMC Spa Chapter consultants are equipped with the knowledge, experience and expertise to objectively identify client needs, problems and issues, and propose and implement effective and cost-efficient solutions.  Spa Chapter consultants are committed to promoting excellence and ethics in management consulting through obtaining (CMC®) certification and continuing education.

“Our members commit themselves to ongoing education and professional development, voluntary certification and a strong commitment to ethical standards and satisfied clients,” said Evans. ”As independent professionals, we adhere to the IMC Code of Ethics that details a standard of conduct which truly raises the bar and sets new standards for the spa consulting practice.”

IMC USA has earned the prestigious ISO/IEC 17024 accreditation for its Certified Management Consultant (CMC®) certification process that meets global standards of technical competence and professional conduct  in more than 40 nations.   The CMC mark involves a rigorous written and oral examination process, and is awarded to a select few consultants who have achieved a level of performance that includes  technical competency and ethics; global standards in consulting competencies; professional behavior; client and project management; and personal conduct.

IMC Spa Chapter members must possess the basic experiential and academic requirements necessary to become Certified Management Consultants. — a minimum of three years full-time management consulting experience and Bachelor's degree.  They must commit to achieving this status within one year of being accepted as a Spa Chapter member.
