Lynn MacMichael Offers Tips for Successful Business Networking

Jan. 10, 2011 - PRLog -- Networking expert, consultant and Canadian entrepreneur Lynn MacMichael is dedicating much of 2011 to helping business owners achieve the successful business networking tools and strategies they need for growth.  Her organization Bconnected, a Halifax-based progressive networking organization, is just one aspect of this endeavor.

Lynn has recently completed a video that outlines what she identifies as the ten most effective strategies for successful business networking.  In addition to the video, Lynn speaks to groups around Canada and holds workshops to train entrepreneurs and business people to be successful.  She also blogs on a regular basis.

One of her recent blog posts covers the topic of organization, specifically organizing contacts.  According to Lynn, “If you don’t keep your contacts organized, then follow-up can be a time-consuming and difficult task…and successful business networking isn’t a complete success.”

Lynn recommends using an online contact management system that allows for inputting contact information as well as setting appointments and taking notes on the progress as new relationships build.  She also recommends syncing the information with a Blackberry or smart phone so that contacts are within reach at all times.

Lynn also recommends having an organization system for business cards.  One method she suggests is organizing cards into two groups: “potential clients” and “refer to others.”

According to Lynn, “The important thing is that you have a system.  With an effective organization system combined with effective networking communication tools, successful business networking is a cinch!”
