Microsoft adds the “do-not-track” feature for IE9

Dec. 9, 2010 - PRLog -- The giants in the software field announced that a new feature called "Tracking Protection" is designed. This feature helps users determine who are tracking the habits or movements between their sites. Due to this application, the third parties are not able to track the behavior of web users today.

Microsoft said that it will integrate this feature into the IE9 test version which will be released early next year. The Tracking Protection feature is always turned off by default. As using, users will have to set up the third party’s IE9 lists of the websites. The list includes several websites which are not tracked by the third-party. Microsoft released the first IE9 beta version in last September without the feature Tracking Protection.

In order to meet the demand “Do Not Track” of Washington, Microsoft has announced this proposal. The third party often collects the web data or purposes to advertise. Accordingly, the third party does not have permission to keep track of the users’ online data.

The U.S Federal Trade Committee proposed an option called “Do-Not-Track” on the Internet. One U.S. senator announced a plan for the Regulation which bans the companies from tracking the children’ behavior on the internet.

According to Peter Cullen, the security strategy director of Microsoft, the third party’s websites have the ability to track users through cookie files and other engine technologies. Tracking Protection feature enables users to set up a list of the third-party’s websites. This advantage makes sure that the information is not tracked when users surf the webs.
