We’re happy to present six beautiful beadweaving projects for you FREE, my beady peeps!” says Beading Daily Editor Kristal Wick. Beadweaving Pattern #1- Herringbone Stitch Wild Ruffe design by Tina Koyama A fresh twist on the classic herringbone stitch, this pattern offers a new technique. Unlike most herringbone bracelets, this beadweaving pattern is worked lengthwise instead of widthwise, which creates a spiky fringe on the edges. Beaders can get creative with color schemes and different color patterns. It’s as simple as following Koyama’s step by step instructions and everyone can enjoy this unique twist on a classic. Beadweaving Pattern #2- Herringbone Stitch Café Society Bracelet design by Cary Bruner This jewel of a bracelet was created by chance. Designer Cary Bruner originally wanted to do something with seed beads and crystals in peyote stitch, but instead ended up using brick and herringbone stitches with wonderful results. The focal piece of this herringbone pattern bracelet is very elaborate. Ladder, brick and herringbone stitches are all used, while also making fringe to help accent the beauty of this bracelet design. Beadweaving Pattern #3- Herringbone Stitch Plum Blossom design by Lisa Kan Inspired by the beautiful plum blossom trees that line the front of Kan’s home, this opera-like necklace exudes a modern-day flapper feel. Beaders will learn to use popular beadweaving techniques to create a masterpiece that can be worn to any special occasion. The beading techniques used in this beadweaving pattern are the flat and tubular peyote stitch, circular and tubular herringbone stitch, ladder stitch, picot and fringe. Beadweaving Pattern #4- Right-Angle Weave Silver Comet design by Leslie Rogalski These dramatic earrings are actually just 90 degree turns of a basic flat right-angle weave stitch; they hang askew on the ear wire like zigzags of the night sky. This beadweaving pattern is unlike any of the right angle weave patterns. Designer Leslie Rogalski offers her very own tips on the easiest way to construct her twisted technique on the classic right angle weave technique. Her step by step instructions are easy to follow and understand. Beadweaving Pattern #5- Right-Angle Weave Triple Quatrefoil design by Tina Koyama When Koyama chose to work with this pretty pattern, she immediately saw right-angle weave stitches. The quatrefoil shape can be seen in the bracelet base, in the three-dimensional embellishments and even in the clasp attachments. Along with the instructions to construct this right angle weave bracelet, a list of materials and tools needed is provided. Beadweaving Pattern #6- Right-Angle Weave Egyptian Cuff design by Shelley Nybakke This metal-bead cuff has just the right amount of crystal sparkle, worthy of an Egyptian princess. Worked in segments, the multilayer right-angle weave rectangles are first woven, then connected with loops of beads. This right angle weave tutorial provided by Nybakke is sure to help anyone with their right angle weave skills. Her step by step weave instructions are full of details and very clear to understand.
