Nov. 9, 2010 - PRLog -- You can say that Eugenol oil  has a light and a dark side and leave it at that, but it needs to be said that any miracle cure type thing should be followed with warnings. More and more people lately are jumping on the eugenol oil bandwagon, due to Billy the Exterminator, http://pestcemetery.com/5-days-billy-exterminator/ but it should be said that we don’t know everything about this product, true its made with cloves and mixed with water, but there are downfalls and even hidden effects that few people need to speak up about, especially when its labeled environmentally safe.  When looking to purchase this product take the time to consider these things.

Eugenol oil is made up of dried flower buds, leaves of trees found in both the Eastern and Western hemisphere, an extract so to speak. The FDA lists this product as minimum risk, and is used for flavoring foods, cosmetics, dermal drugs and many others. But this product is not considered safe for fish and the people who eat the fish. This product can even kill weeds and bugs. Unlike  a lot of long lasting products, clove oil has a short residual and is short lived, and makes it perfect for a lot of uses. http://pestcemetery.com/darker-side-eugenol-oil/

And now for that light and dark side I talked about, it boils down to what we know and what we don’t know regarding this miracle product.  What we don’t know is that there has been very little studies on the effects of clove oil, but the FDA, & EPA both say that the methyl eugenol is reasonably anticipated to be a human carcinogen. However the data has been questionable and since other tests have not come to this conclusion, eugenol oil is not required to be listed as such. California however still requires that the label state, Caution, keep out of the reach of children and glove and eye wear are required for mixing and use.  Now here’s what we know, Clove oil is toxic to human cells, and if ingested in sufficient quantities or even injected, it will cause life threatening illnesses.  And this stuff is toxic to our liver and nervous system, and can cause sickness and death even with a small amount of 8ml.

So what does this mean for us? Ok IT does kill bugs, it kills weeds but only in HIGH DOSES and it only takes a small amount to cause serious illness and possible deaths, it is toxic to fish and humans. So I forsee the future studies coming out with a not so good point and showing us how dark the other side of eugenol oil is. http://pestcemetery.com/
