Whatever it is called the bottom line is - it is an iPad clone. - Now is this a bad thing?
It depends. If you paid $800 for an iPad and got this thing then I guess that yes. But if you are looking for a device that does mostly the same things that a real iPad does but costs only a fraction of the price then no it`s not a bad thing. Most people use the expensive iPad for surfing the web and the ePad / Chinese iPad does this excellently. Youtube videos, Facebook etc - there is very little if any difference if you are browsing them on an 800 dollar real iPad or the ePad. They both have built-in wifi connection that works fluently if your signal is strong enough so you can view the web for free wherever you find a Wi-Fi connection.
The Chinese iPad lacks the 3G/GSM connectivity that the real iPad has so you cannot use it as a cellphone. But you can use Skype for making phone calls and it has an built in microphone, speaker and even a web camera for video-chat!
Because the ePad or whatever we call it uses Android as it`s operating system instead of Apple`s own iOS it can actually beat the real iPad in this aspect. The Android OS is made by Google and it is considered to be the best - and in the future also the leading - smartphone/tablet pc operating system. The Android Marketplace has over 100 000 of applications and games of which many are totally free. In addition to this you will have super easy way to access all the excellent Google-made products like Gmail, Google Docs, Google Maps and also YouTube!
Chinese iPad...so it is made in China?
Yes but this is in no way a bad thing. Your TV is made in China. So is your PC, laptop, cellphone, gaming console, stereo system, microwave etc. Nearly all of the world`s electronic devices are made in Asia and most of them are made in China. The cheap toys and clothes that you might have seen having signs on them stating "Made In China" have absolutely nothing to do with the technology they make. Chinese are one of the best people in the world when it comes to electronic gadgets like for an example the ePad.
Plus, the real iPad is also made in China :)
