Nov. 2, 2010 - PRLog -- The J.C. Coleman Foundation had just an amazing weekend of fun and fund raising. Friday, October 29th the participants of our after school program were scared out of their wits during the Delaware Center’s haunted house and Halloween carnival. The staff at the Delaware Center set up a haunted house for the children in the community and the program. Following the kids trip through the haunted house, a mini carnival with games and activities was set up so the kids could win candy and prizes. Among the games were free throw competitions, ring tosses, mini golf, balloon pop with darts, and face painting.

The following Saturday was a chance for some of the parents, participants, and staff of the J.C. Coleman Foundation to get together and have some fun washing cars on a picture perfect day. The event proved to be helpful in raising money for supplies and awareness for the after school program.

Right now, we are working toward hosting a spaghetti dinner to raise money for upcoming holiday events. Some of those events include a toy collection for the participants and area residents as well as holiday banquets. Our tradition, however, is our community outreach project where we buy and distribute clothes and other winter gear to local shelters. One of our staff members has been known to stuff his back-pack full of items and pass them out by way of skateboard. This will be our third Christmas to do so.

We look forward to seeing everyone come out to support us and their community. For information on our upcoming events, visit our website at www.jccolemanfoundation.org
