FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE The Wisconsin Philharmonic to open season on October 17th in Oconomowoc The Romantic Spirit Concert The Wisconsin Philharmonic will open the 2010-2011 season, Return to Romance, on Sunday, October 17, 2010 at 3pm at the Oconomowoc Arts Center with “The Romantic Spirit.” The concert features the world premiere of Daron Hagen’s revised Symphony No. 3. Hagen is a nationally renowned composer from Wisconsin who has had his music commissioned and performed by such organizations as the Philadelphia Orchestra, New York Philharmonic, and the Seattle Symphony. Also featured at this concert are Bach’s Third Brandenburg Concerto and Beethoven’s Third Symphony “Eroica,” tying three distinct classical music eras together in one afternoon. Tickets for “The Romantic Spirit” are available by calling 262-547-1858. Ticket prices vary upon seating at $25-$35 for adults and $15-$25 for students. Preconcert Presentation A preconcert presentation led by Maestro Alexander Platt will take place at 2pm at the Oconomowoc Arts Center.
