Once-Loved Coats Relegated to Backs of Closets Welcome at Ft. Lauderdale Ski & Snowboard Show

Sept. 29, 2010 - PRLog -- Whoever said that one man’s trash is another man’s treasure could have been talking about this year’s Ft. Lauderdale Ski & Snowboard Show where attendees are encouraged to bring their gently used coats for a contribution to One Warm Coat. Their local partner, LifeNet 4 Families/Cooperative Feeding Program, will distribute them to their clients, continuing their mission as a one-stop shop for people in crisis. “The winter season is particularly hard for our families, so we appreciate the opportunity to be the recipient of the charitable spirit of Peter Glenn and their customers,” says Scott Woodburn, Development Director. “These coats will be welcome gifts – we love it when people recycle.”

People who donate a coat will be rewarded for their generosity in the form of a $10 coupon toward the purchase of a new winter jacket. “It’s really a win for all,” says David Mahoney, Marketing Director for Peter Glenn. “Our patrons can feel good about giving to a great cause and have an incentive to check out the newest winter coat styles. Our vendors will have a group of cheerful shoppers and LifeNet 4 Families will be able to better serve their clients.”

Whether it’s secondhand, gently used, recycled, salvaged, reutilized or born again, those once-loved coats from runway shows of years gone by will be able to make a new fashion statement with a different set of ‘models’ in the South Florida community.

Show hours for the Ft. Lauderdale Ski and Snowboard Show are Friday, October 1, 1:00 to 9:00 PM, Saturday and Sunday, October 2 and 3, 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM each day. Admission is free for children under the age of 16 and $5.00 for adults.
