Winter Clothing Drive at the Atlanta Ski Show

Oct. 15, 2010 - PRLog -- Whoever said that one man’s trash is another man’s treasure could have been talking about this year’s Atlanta Ski Show where attendees are encouraged to donate gently used coats and winter clothing to One Warm Coat. Their local partner, the Metro Atlanta Task Force for the Homeless, will distribute them to their clients, continuing their mission as a central coordinating agency for people who are homeless. “The winter season is particularly hard for our families, so we appreciate the opportunity to be the recipient of the charitable spirit of Peter Glenn and their customers,” says Anita Beaty, Executive Director. “The weather will begin chilling in a few weeks, and it gets cold quickly here. These coats will be welcome gifts – we love it when people recycle.”

People who donate a coat will be rewarded for their generosity in the form of a $10 coupon toward the purchase of a new winter jacket. “It’s really a win for all,” says David Mahoney, Marketing Director for Peter Glenn Ski & Sports. “Our patrons can feel good about giving to a great cause and have an incentive to check out the newest winter coat styles. Our vendors will have a group of cheerful shoppers and the Metro Atlanta Task Force will be able to better serve their clients.”

Whether it’s secondhand, gently used, recycled, salvaged, reutilized or born again, those once-loved articles of warm clothing will make a difference in the lives men, women and children in the Atlanta community.

The Atlanta Ski Show, one of the largest ski consumer events in the southeast featuring a mega merchandise sale and one-stop shop for discount winter travel packages at leading national resorts, will be held at Center Court Galleria Specialty Mall, 42A Galleria Parkway NW. Show hours are Friday, October 22, 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM, Saturday and Sunday, October 23 and 24, 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM each day. Admission is free.
