Don Paterson at Dylan Thomas Centre

Sept. 23, 2010 - PRLog -- The Dylan Thomas Centre welcomes the acclaimed poet, Don Paterson, on Saturday, 25 September at 7.30pm.

Don Paterson’s poetry has won an impressive number of awards, including the Forward Prize for Best First Collection, the Whitbread Poetry Prize, the Geoffrey Faber Memorial Award, and the  T.S. Eliot Prize on two occasions. Most recently, Rain won the 2009 Forward Prize. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature, and received an OBE in 2008 and the Queen’s Gold Medal for Poetry in 2010. Paterson teaches poetry at the University of St Andrews, and since 1996 has been poetry editor at Picador MacMillan.

Sunday, 26 September, 11am – 1pm: Poetry Workshop with Don Paterson
Don Paterson will conduct an open seminar-style workshop and discuss all aspects of the poetic art, looking at the business of poetic composition as a technical, practical and spiritual exercise, and focussing on every stage of the process from inspiration to publication. Please bring pen, paper and two or three good questions.
