Sept. 6, 2010 - PRLog -- Being a student athlete is not an easy feat author R.J. Rahman knows from experience, add final exams, keeping your grade point average up to an acceptable level, and training for the Women's Final Four in basketball is an incredible task.  Then after getting through the Final Four in basket ball and becomming one of the final two teams playing for that coveted number one spot in Women's College Basketball.  It takes a lot of effort and a lot heart to say the least.

Meanwhile, while playing for the championship the majority of the female African American players were being called horrible names by talk radio host Don Imus and other guest commentators that were on his talk radio show.  The African American players were ridiculed because of their skin color and presumed texture of their hair, and to top it off after obtaining the number two spot in Women's College Basketball, after bringing the title along with pride and honor to Rutgers University as a team and then having to turn around as a team after an incredible season having to demand an apology from talk radio show host Don Imus for his satirical, sexist and racist comments " Wow" I
applaud you all.

I am so prowed of all the members of the 2007 Rutgers University Women's Basketball Team coach included for your "Courage" and "Undauanted Stance" against the disrespectful comments made toward the African American members of your team.  It was your courage that inspired me to write and publish the poetry that I had in journals about Black hair, heritage, and culture.  You all as a team not only stood up for yourselves you stood up for all back women in America and throughout the world.

I dedicated chapter six and a poem at the end of that chapter called "Ancestral Hairstyles" to all of the members of the 2007 Rutgers University Women's Basketball Team.  It's August 2010 I know, it took me two years to complete this project and almost an entire year to edit.  I hope that you all approve.
