Global Organization Forms To Support Entrepreneurs With Disabilities

Aug. 17, 2010 - PRLog -- The Global Network for Entrepreneurs with Disabilities has been formed to provide entrepreneurs with disabilities with the encouragement, support and resources they need to start and develop successful businesses.

“The Global Network for Entrepreneurs with Disabilities is committed to building a global resource to which existing business owners with a disability, whether they be experienced entrepreneurs or people with potential, can turn at any stage of their business journey,” said John Little, one of the organizations founding members.

With leadership comprised of ten founding members and two global ambassadors in five countries, the network is unique in being able to allow its members to share expertise, first hand experiences, provide case studies, and leverage contacts and connections to a worldwide audience. It acknowledges the challenges and barriers of business start-ups and ongoing operation for those with a disability.

"We believe that around the world, there are many thousands of potentially successful business owners with disabilities who are in business now or ready to start-up, but are facing a variety of obstacles," said Rob Crawford, another founding member.  "We are passionate and committed to the concept of building a global network of entrepreneurs with disability."

The network has recently been invited to take part in a full plenary session at the 2010 USBLN® Annual Conference & Expo. The conference is the annual preeminent national employer-to-employer event that taps into the vast economic potential of people with disabilities and will be held in Chicago, Illinois on September 19-22, 2010 for the US Business Leadership Network’s 13th Annual Conference at the Westin Michigan Avenue Chicago Hotel.
