POOKOO e-book leaps into the Amazon.com Track and Field top 10, Philosophy/Religious top 30

Aug. 11, 2010 - PRLog -- Homefield Multimedia announces that two years after publication, POOKOO, a novel by Doug Shiloh, is back in the Amazon.com Top 10 for "Track and Field."

POOKOO is also charted in Amazon's "Religious/Philosophy" bestselling Kindle chart, being in close company with Dante's "Inferno" (No. 26), "Bhagavad Gita" (No. 28) and is ahead of such luminous works as Leo Tolstoy's "The Kingdom of God is Within You" (#37). Other notable books in the top 50 include works by authors such as Soren Kierkegaard and G.K. Chesterton, and Mark Twain.

"Pookoo" is a comic tragedy, with philosophical and religious overtones," Shiloh said. "It's set in modern day America and about celebrities, our culture of idol worship, etc. It asks the big questions that aren't always asked. These characters have hollow pursuits and they're not very happy, even when following the life of the flesh."

It also at No. 33 in Sports/Running.

"It's a real life book, with full flavor of language and situations," Shiloh added. "It satirizes celebrity culture. It asks that maybe sports and TV heroes aren't real heroes."

Shiloh is contemplating a sequel.
