Aug. 11, 2010 - PRLog -- With the economy being like it is today, one would think that the
powers that be would do all they could to help small businesses succeed.
Today, many small businesses are virtual companies, people who operate
online and out of their homes. Robert Pearson, the owner of ParaMind Brainstorming Software, has done this for 18 years and has stayed in business because of it.
Commercial real estate has always been very expensive, and that fact is probably
one reason why over 90% of new businesses fail.
Pearson has also done professional computer consulting since 1994.  Because of the
current recession, he is now offering assistance in using his very unique brainstorming product.  The software has been written about in books and has been used by famous writers and even an ambassador.   It is considered a great problem solving tool, having
positive feedback even from Inc. Magazine.

When Pearson contacted his local congressman to find out how to offer his service to
the government, he was told he needed a Dunn and Bradstreet number.  But one cannot
get a Dunn and Bradstreet number without giving a physical street address. ParaMind Brainstorming Software has always been a virtual company, having their first website
back in 1994, and selling their product through catalogs since 1992.

"This seems to be an obvious flaw in the system," says Pearson.  "This is the way it used to work, but now with the recession, it makes it impossible for many good hardworking people to get the government contracts they deserve.  This makes big businesses possibly get even more of the money, which could be partially wasted in their bureaucracies.
It's not fair that small businesspersons have to expose themselves to personal risk by
posting their home address.  There should be instead a waiting period, where virtual businesses that have existed for over 3 years are allowed a Dunn and Bradstreet number even without listing their home addresses."
