Expert Panel to Discuss Pros and Cons of Decentralizing Cyber Security

Doug DePeppe, co-founder of Trust Anchor, will lead a discussion on the merits, and potential pitfalls, of decentralizing cyber security at this year’s NATIONAL SYMPOSIUM on Homeland Security and Defense™, Oct. 27-29.
 
Aug. 9, 2010 - PRLog -- A vital issue in the developing world of cyber security is whether more or less centralization is needed to protect private, corporate and public networks.  Doug DePeppe, co-founder of Colorado Springs-based cyber security firm Trust Anchor will lead a discussion on the merits, and potential pitfalls, of decentralizing cyber security at this year’s NATIONAL SYMPOSIUM on Homeland Security and Defense™, Oct. 27-29.

Joining Mr DePeppe on the panel are Seth Kulakow, Chief Information Security Officer for the State of Colorado; Steve Bucci, associate partner for cyber security at IBM; and Scott Algeier, Executive Director of the Information Technology at the Information Sharing and Analysis Center.    

The panel will discuss the potential risks and benefits of centralizing national Cyber Security in Washington, D.C. area, as is now the case.  The panel will discuss whether there is a substantial benefit to decentralizing Cyber Security taking into account national geography, demographics and critical node data and whether regional and node-based Cyber Security Centers of Excellence should be created.
