Frank Micciche Authors Opinion in The New York Times on Health Insurance Exchanges

July 29, 2010 - PRLog -- WASHINGTON (July 28, 2010) — Frank Micciche, Senior Advisor in the Public Policy and International practice at McKenna Long & Aldridge LLP (MLA), was published today in The New York Times.  His opinion piece, entitled “A Fair Exchange,” asserts health insurance exchanges can offer millions of Americans access to health insurance in a way that can be acceptable to both Republicans and Democrats.  Specifically, he argues the Obama administration can position exchanges to succeed by prioritizing planning and implementation grants states; granting states flexibility in defining “essential benefits;” and giving small business a prominent role in designing the exchange for small employers.

Before joining MLA, Micciche was Director of State-Federal Relations for Governor Mitt Romney (R-MA) and Managing Director of the Next Social Contract Initiative at the New America Foundation, a Washington, DC-based think tank.  As part of MLA’s Health Insurance Exchange Team, he has also recently authored articles published in Bloomberg Law and BNA’s Health Insurance Report.
