Self-Managed Solutions™ were launched in 2009 to help national and global companies overcome common barriers to women’s advancement. Leading Women of Southeastern New England president, Lisa Bergeron, was awarded a “Women of Achievement 2009” award by the YWCA.

In 2010, Leading Women expanded into Connecticut under the leadership of Lisa Bergeron and into New Jersey under the leadership of Kathryn M. Longo, president.
