Dan Molloy Resigns From Community Development Districts

Florida Republican legislative candidate Dan Molloy resigns from two community development districts in accordance with state statutes requiring political candidates to resign from other public boards prior to qualifying for office.
 
June 24, 2010 - PRLog -- (TAMPA, FL) – Dan Molloy, Republican candidate for the Florida State Legislature, District 57, submitted his resignation as a member of the Board of Supervisors for two community development districts in accordance with F.S. 99.012, commonly known as Florida’s “resign to run” law.



Molloy resigned in letters dated June 1, 2010, from the Parkway Center Community Development District and the Avelar Creek Community Development District with an effective date of November 2, 2010, to comply with Florida state statute, prior to submitting his election qualifying papers to the Florida Secretary of State for the Florida house seat he is seeking.



Section 99.012, Florida Statutes, states, “No officer may qualify as a candidate for another public office, whether state, district, county or municipal, if the terms or any part thereof run concurrently with each other, without resigning from the office he or she presently holds.”



Molloy is a practicing real estate attorney, a 50-year resident of Tampa, and has served on numerous boards in the area. He is a graduate of Chamberlain High School, received his law degree at the University of Florida and lives in Hyde Park with his wife, Judy. They have four grown children.
