By: Jungle Lore Kundalika is a small river flowing from the Sahyadri to the Arabian Sea. The river originates from a small village known as Bhira. The villages located around the river are Kolad, Roha and Salav. Kundalika is fed by the excess water from Tata Power's Mulshi Dam Project on to a series of hydroelectric projects and dams. Kundalika being a dam controlled river, river rafting is done in the rapids which are generated by the water released from the dam in the morning. The total rafting distance is 12 kms., which takes approx.3hrs. All different groups assemble at the starting point i.e the rafting site in the morning by 8.30am. This is followed by the rafting instructions given by the instructor/guide, one of whom will accompany you on the raft. A maximum of 10 people including the instructor can be accomodated in the raft.
