Northern California’s ONLY Hip Hop and Urban Arts Academy has a NEW home in Sacramento

May 26, 2010 - PRLog -- Studio T is a non-traditional studio that offers all the flavorful styles of Performing Arts that are spicing up the celebrity Hip Hop scene on shows like ‘So You Think You Can Dance’, ‘ America’s Best Dance Crew’, and more. Studio T is also the home to the youth multiple National and International award winning Hip Hop dance troupe "The Sacramento Street Team", who making waves in the world of dance and putting Sacramento on the map.

After announcing the opening of their new location to existing students, friends, and family, the Studio T’s website, www.Studiotdance.com, visitor count tripled in just one hour.  They were flooded with registrants before occupying their new 6000sqft facility soon to be expanded to 8000sqft.

“The great thing about Hip Hop and Urban dance is that it is color blind.  It is not gender specific, or age specific", says owner, Tamaira Sandifer. “If you like the beat of the music, you are bound to start moving to it.”

Tamaira Sandifer has studied dance for nearly twenty years and has taught various forms of urban dances for 19 years.  She has donated her gifts and time as an instructor for several local non-profits youth programs, community programs, and school districts all over Northern California.  Sandifer decided to launch Studio T after finding the city didn’t have the same culturally rich dance programs she grew up on in the Bay Area as a youth.  

“Music and dance are universal mediums where children can learn a little more about other cultures while learning to express themselves. Having programming like this will contribute to the positive cultural shaping happening in our community and will add to the diversity Sacramento already has”.
